You need to go to a variety of places where you can meet people like:
Church (try a different one every month)
Book Signings
Cookouts
Lectures
Walking Tours of black neighborhoods like Harlem (I love New York)!
Also look for black oriented events on meetup.com.

You could also try volunteering for a black organization. That way you are in constant contact with interesting Black people who have similar values. How about the United Negro College Fund, or any other black organization in your area?

Finally, don’t count out asking people to introduce you to eligible black males they know. Since they know you both, they might have a clue as to whether you can get along. There’s nothing wrong with it. People have been meeting this way for centuries.

i feel where your coming from sista but this is something that i tell all of my friends who are single, when you stop looking, he’ll come to you. Theres no reason for you to go to speed dating events and loud clubs because you dont have to, trust me.

You should have 5 or 6 wires…look in the ceiling box & see if there’s not another wire.

What you should have in the ceiling is your power feed (black, white & ground). You should also have your switch leg (black, white & ground).

If all these are not there, you’ll need to go in the attic & find the missing wire.

Once you’ve located all your wires, black from power feed to black from switch; white from switch to black from fixture; white from fixture to white from power feed; all grounds together.

Here’s an example to install and chandelier, which we just did:

Usually the black wire is the “hot” line, and white is neutral. Connect the white lines, then the black. Add a wire nut to cover each connection and wrap in electrical tape, fold the wires and tuck them up inside the box.

And this is simple enough to DIY successfully, instead of paying an electrician $125-150 to show up and $95 any portion of an hour thereafter.
