Oh, I don’t know about that. I think both are equally likely to date outside of their race nowadays.

Women are more likely than men to be judged harshly for dating outside their race. We also may be slightly more likely to defer to our families and communities opinions in these matters.

It really doesn’t matter much any more. Racial mingling has become very commonplace today. White men approach me every day and many of my black women friends have dated and married outside the race. My own daughter is the result of a mixed relationship.

People’s opinions and attitudes are changing rapidly. I expect those studies will quickly become outdated.

As a black man who has dated many non-black females, I really do not care who wants and who does not want/prefer African-Americans as romantic partners. My concerns are equal protection under the law, safe streets, and an end to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, equal economic opportunity, a fair and equitable distribution of the wealth and political power, and a host of others.

So whatever Imus or whoever thinks about us, it means nothing to me. People are free to have their ethnic and cosmetic preferences without ridicule.

For me personally, I disagree. I think it has more to do with what a woman finds attractive in a man. But I do know women who are incredibly racist, and women from certian areas are simply brought up that way…

I am a white female. I have dated an Eyptian, Ethiopian, a few Mexican guys, and a guy from the Ivory Coast in Africa. My ex-husband was white. I think it is exciting to date men of other races, but after a while the culture differences start to get in the way. I know I should date men from my own culture, since we would have more in common but it is just so boring. I don’t think I am like most women though. I think most women prefer to date their own race.
